Piggies Are Here! Nov 2024
We got our second batch of piggies for the farm!
All 8 of our piggies come from Roads End Farm in Danville, PA. They pasture raise, so the piglets are already somewhat familiar with electric fencing. 👍🏼
This year we got our pigs at 7weeks old, and put them right out on pasture. Don’t think we will do this for our next batch. Because fast forward 6 days… piggies got out and they did some roaming! They were so small it was easy for them to get under the wire. They headed down to the back pasture, almost to our property line then I was able to somewhat get them corralled back up by their area. Had to call Pa for reinforcement, and he brought some extra treats too, which was helpful!
They really camped out under our maple tree, rooting in the still green grass.

Our 2nd batch of heritage breed piggies are here! We love having these guys on the farm. T

They really like to get rough and tumble with each other.

Just enjoying their views in the open pasture.

Those Ears!!

Eyeballing us while eating their tasty pumpkins!

My niece was the piggy whisperer! She was able to give them some scratchies her first time meeting them!

Karl was able to get some pets in too!

Look at those snugs! He had to sneak-up on them on all fours so they wouldn't spook.

They are really starting to let us give them snugs!

First snow! We thought they would love it, but they actually weren't big fans. They came out when we were out with them, but mostly stayed snugged in their hut.

2 Little love snugs! Look at those smile :)
